Take a 2nd Look ~

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I have realized that there is an upside to one's computer crashing. Back in August of 2009 I photographed the model that I'm featuring today and there were a few pictures that I considered "Throw Aways." In addition, there were photo's that I edited and thought to myself "Yep! That's a winner!" Then, my computer crashed and I lost nearly all of my edited work.
Last week I revisited that shoot and after kicking myself for not backing up my work I decided to take a second look at some of the photo's that I originally considered throw aways and I'm so happy I did! Today I am posting four of the original throw aways and I think they may be just as good as the photo's that I originally deemed winners!
Moral of the story: Everything deserves a 2nd look!

  1. Those are great pictures. I love her smile!
I believe after some time we perceive certain things differently and they open in a new light for us :)

  2. So true!
I find myself going back to old photo's all the time and what I didn't see before (or didn't like before) suddenly appeals to me.
    Have a great day!

  3. I love everything while I'm involved in working on it. I then hate everything as soon as it's finished. An hour after that I can see it more objectively. It is great to revisit your work and be pleasantly surprised though.

And those all look like keepers to me!

  4. LOL ~
It's interesting how we can get so involved in a project and then we will change our minds about every single aspect of it once it's completed!
I think from here on out I'm going to make it policy to walk away from a project once it's complete and come back to it later (after it's long out of my head) just to see if my perspective changes.
    Thanks Brent!

  5. She is a natural, smiling and genuinely happy.
    It is great photography

  6. She was a lot of fun to work with. She has an amazing personality and it shows!
    Thanks so much!
